Should I pay attention to the noise level when choosing a vacuum cleaner?

When choosing a vacuum cleaner, it is indeed necessary to pay attention to its noise level, as the noise level not only affects the comfort of use, but may also cause interference to family, neighbors, and even pets. Traditional vacuum cleaners often produce loud noise during operation due to their high motor speed and strong suction power, especially in enclosed spaces or when cleaning hard surfaces. If there are infants, elderly people, or members who are sensitive to sound in the family, frequent use of high noise vacuum cleaners may cause discomfort or anxiety.

Modern vacuum cleaners have made many technological improvements in noise reduction. Many high-end brands have optimized their motor design, air duct structure, and housing materials by using brushless motors, double-layer soundproof shells, or optimizing airflow paths to effectively reduce noise during operation. The operating noise of some silent vacuum cleaners can even be controlled at around 60-70 decibels, which is equivalent to the volume of daily conversations. They can be used without disturbing others, especially suitable for households that need low-noise cleaning in the morning or at night.

Noise levels are often labeled in decibels (dB) in product manuals. Generally, vacuum cleaners below 70 dB are considered relatively quiet, while those above 80 dB may make people feel noisy. When making a purchase, attention should be paid to product parameters or refer to user evaluations to understand their noise performance in actual use.
